Halloween Movie Madness 2017: Teenage Space Vampires

October is finally here!  This year, it brings the long awaited return of Halloween Movie Madness!  I decided I needed to try and make this year special, so most of the movies on this year's list are films that I haven't seen before(and I will probably wish I never sat through half of them).

Another night, another movie I know next to nothing about!  Not for a lack of trying, though.  There just didn't seem to be a lot of information on this movie.  I had a hell of a time just trying to find a trailer for it. What I found was two trailers that used the same footage, but had a different voice over.  In one, the movie was Darkness.  In the other, Teenage Space Vampires.  My DVD is titled Darkness: The Teen Space Vampire Saga.

Already I'm confused.

HMM '13: Fright Night

It's October! The doorway to not only the start of the greatest food season (early October to Christmas), but also to sexy nurses, zombies, and grown men dressing up like ponies. That also means it is time once again for Halloween Movie Madness! This year, I'll be taking a look back at the movies of my youth. Every movie this year was released before I turned eighteen. These are the Halloween movies that shaped me into the man I am today. Some of them are scary. Some are funny. Some are fantastical. Some are just weird. And not all of them are good. But to me, they are all Halloween movies. Now, stand back, for your own safety!

Let me start out by saying sorry for not having a HMM yesterday.  I've been dealing with a sinus infection for a few days, and it got the better of me Sunday night/Monday and I just wasn't up to watching and writing about a scary movie.  Last night, however, I toughed it out and watched Fright Night.  I'm very glad I did.

It's been way too long since the last time I had watched Fright Night.  I wanted to watch it around the time the remake came out a few years back, but I just never got around to it.  This movie is easily one of my favorites, and it's one of the best vampire movies out there.

HMM '13: Once Bitten

If you haven't been able to tell yet, my parents didn't care what I watched when I was a kid.  It didn't matter if it was scary, gory, or sexy, they didn't care.  If they did, I probably wouldn't have seen Once Bitten when I did.  I mean, let's face it, you don't normally let a kid who is eight watch a movie where the main plot is about a virgin trying to get into his girlfriend's pants.

Halloween Movie Madness '13: Innocent Blood

One of my favorite things about Halloween Movie Madness is introducing people to movies they have never heard of.  Heck, it's one of my favorite things in general.  Yesterday, I introduced a lot of people to Q: The Winged Serpent for the first time, and I know a few people who are going to hunt it down so they can watch it. Today's movie isn't going to be any different.

It was announced today that Blood Bowl 2, the sequel to the 2007 release of Blood Bowl (based on the Games Workshop board game of the same name), is coming to PCs.  Cyanide Studio has been developing Blood Bowl 2 for over a year, and we have our first teaser trailer for the game.

You can read the announcement below the trailer.

HMM '12 Day 29: The Lost Boys

It's October! That means two very important things: Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts are here, and Halloween is near! My favorite thing to do in October to prepare myself for Halloween is to, of course, watch movies that I feel best exemplify the season. Now, this doesn't just mean extreme gore fests (of course, I do love me some gore), but I like to include movies that have that Halloween feel. Anyway, let's get to Day 29 of Halloween Movie Madness 2012!

The Lost Boys
(Warner Bros., 1987)

Take Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, and Jack Bauer.  Stick them all in the same movie, and throw in a few cups of the 80's.  Stir thoroughly.  Cook for 97 minutes, and you should have a wonderful looking copy of The Lost Boys.

HMM '12 Day 16: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

It's finally October! Anyway, let's get to Day 16 of Halloween Movie Madness 2012!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
(20th Century Fox, 1992)

If you have never seen this movie, and you enjoy the Buffy TV series, you might be disappointed a bit.  Yes, the movie was written by Joss Whedon.  However, his script was not what ended up on the screen.  In fact, the movie is not considered canon with the TV show.  However, that doesn't mean you should discount this movie.  It's a fun watch, and it has one of the best death scenes ever filmed.

HMM '12 Day 10: From Dusk Till Dawn

It's finally October! Anyway, let's get to Day 10 of Halloween Movie Madness 2012!

From Dusk Till Dawn
(Dimension Films, 1996)

Tonight, we have a last minute substitution.  I was going to do Ernest Scared Stupid, but I want to include my son in the viewing of that one.  This is also going to be rather short because I feel like someone smacked me over the head with a steel pipe a few times.  Maybe it was because I ran around with a chair on my head for a bit today.
