Star Wars: The Last Jedi Coming to Pinball FX3 April 17

This April, the most divisive Star Wars movie is coming to Pinball FX3 (unless you have the Switch version).

Star Wars Pinball: The Last Jedi Pack is adding two more Star Wars tables to the massive collection already available.  There is the main Last Jedi table, and there is also a table focusing on Ahch-To Island.  They both look incredibly fun, and it makes me even more anxious for the Star Wars (and Marvel for that matter) tables to make their way to the Switch version.

You can read the press release below.

Nintendo Switch Online Service Detailed

Nintendo has finally revealed their plans for their paid online service for the Switch!  They have outlined the differences between the paid and free memberships, but most importantly they have told us how much is is going to cost in 2018(and yes, that means it is going to be free for 2017).

When the service launches this year, all users will have access to online multiplayer at no cost.  Once the currently unspecified date in 2018 rolls around, only subscribers will have online access for most games.  The website makes it sound like there will still be games that do not require a subscription, but I'm going to guess those will be few and far between.

Subscribers will also have a smartphone app that will control game invites, voice chat, and regular chat.

Also, much like Sony and Microsoft's services, Nintendo will be offering free classic games, which are going to have newly added online play.  That is fairly exciting news to me!  The first three games that were announced are Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight, and Dr. Mario.

And now the important part: the price.  I was expecting prices in line with Sony and Microsoft($9.99/month, $59.99/year), but Nintendo will only be charging $3.99/month or $19.99/year.  I think it is fair to say those prices are extremely reasonable.

There is still no word on when the service will start up, but I think it is safe to say the most likely time is when Splatoon 2 is released on July 21.

Spider-Man Homecoming Trailer 2 is Here

Marvel/Sony have released a new trailer today of everyone's favorite web-slinging hero, and it has raised my hype meter even higher!

So, we see a bit more of  Adrian Toomes as himself and the Vulture, and we see a ever so slight hint at his motivation.  We also see more Tony Stark.  A lot more, actually.  You can tell he is trying to look out for Peter's safety, but he does it in a very Tony Starkian manner and just comes off dickish.  We also know why Peter is shown wearing his home made costume (the reverse color Scarlet Spider outfit).

I really liked the first trailer, but this one I enjoyed more.  Did this trailer raise your excitement for the movie, or are you just not impressed?

It's Official: Spider-Man is Coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

After countless rumors and email hacks, it was officially announced that Spider-Man will indeed be making his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  In fact, the next time we see Spidey on the big screen will be in one of the MCU films.  Current speculation is that he will be in Captain America: Civil War, due to the fact he played a large role in the comic version.

After that, this new Spider-Man (yes, it will be another new version) will have his own stand alone movie, currently slated for release July 28, 2017.  This will take the place of Thor 3, which will now be coming out in November 2017, and Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and The Inhumans all get bumped back one movie slot.

Check out the press release after the jump for all of the current details.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark Trailer

Activision has released the trailer for the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark. I have really enjoyed the last few Transformers games, starting with the game for the second Transformers movie. They turned them into really fun third person shooters with a great online community.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Video Game - First Look

This one seems like it is going to be... interesting.  I like the fact that they going to give us a story where Kraven the Hunter is teaching Spider-Man, because it should force Peter to make some tough decisions.  Hopefully, we the players will get to make those decisions to give them some more weight.  I mean, we know Spidey would choose to do the right thing, but would you?

Make sure to click the image below to check out the official images released alongside the trailer!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be available this Spring on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and 3DS.

Review: BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien

BIT.TRIP Presents Runner 2 Future Legend of Rhythm Alien

BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien
(Available on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U (reviewed), PC (also reviewed), and PS Vita (Summer 2013)

When I reviewed BIT.TRIP Saga for the Nintendo 3DS, I stated my love for the series, so when BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien was announced, it should be no surprise that I was pretty darn happy.  I wasn't sure how I would feel about the new aesthetics of the game, but I knew that the game play would still be solid.  I got even more excited about it when the developers said that the Wii U version was the best console version of the game.  Could the game ever dream to live up to my lofty expectations?

Star Wars Pinball: The Clone Wars Trailer

Star Wars Pinball from Zen Studios is making its way to digital stores (almost) everywhere this week.  The more I see of this game, the more I can't wait for it!  Unfortunately, it seems as though I will have to wait a bit longer, because I can only play it on Windows 8, Wii U, or the 3DS, and those are three places these tables are not being released this week (we don't even know they will ever be released on the latter two).  Until then, make sure you don't wait to try these tables out, because they are from the people who make the best digital pinball around!

Free Rayman Legends Challenge Mode for Wii U in April

As you have undoubtedly heard by now, the Internet is angry again, this time with Ubisoft.  Rayman Legends, the game that was supposed to be a Wii U exclusive and out very shortly, has been announced for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and the Wii U version was delayed until September because of this.

Turns out that even the developers of the game were upset about this.  And who could blame them?  A lot of people have voiced their displeasure over this by cancelling their pre-orders of the game.  In an attempt to try and make up for the unreasonable delay, they are releasing the full Online Challenge mode for free for the Wii U (it's supposed to be exclusive, but we all know how well they are at keeping things exclusive).  This will have daily and weekly challenges, and will be available (for free) through the eShop in April.

So scorned Wii U owners, does this make up for being betrayed?

Star Wars Pinball Coming Soon

Star Wars Pinball Boba Fett Table

So, I know I'm a bit behind on this one, but it somehow slipped through the cracks and it is still worth mentioning.

Zen Studios, the creators of the best pinball video games ever (Pinball FX and Zen Pinball) has announced the theme of their newest tables: Star Wars.  Yes, one of the most loved sci-fi series is getting a bunch of themed pinball tables, and they are coming to just about every version of the games.  The only one that it hasn't been announced on yet is the Wii U, but there was a tweet from the studio that implies it will be released:

Pricing and a release date are both expected soon, but in the meantime, you can check out the trailer after the jump.
