The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Video Game - First Look

This one seems like it is going to be... interesting.  I like the fact that they going to give us a story where Kraven the Hunter is teaching Spider-Man, because it should force Peter to make some tough decisions.  Hopefully, we the players will get to make those decisions to give them some more weight.  I mean, we know Spidey would choose to do the right thing, but would you?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be available this Spring on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and 3DS.

Review: The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition

The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition Game Review

Ever since I was a little kid, Spider-Man has been my favorite superhero. Now that I have gotten older (even though I haven’t actually grown up yet), Spider-Man still ranks up there in the top three. I have played almost every single Spider-Man game ever made, and I have loved almost all of them. Yes, I even liked Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge. The first really good Spider-Man game, at least in my opinion, was Spider-Man on the PS1, N64, and Dreamcast. That is one of my all-time favorite Spidey games. Then when the movies game out, the games took a turn to sand-box territory. By the time Web of Shadows was released, the formula was starting to feel a little stale. This staleness led directly into my second favorite Spidey game: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Shattered Dimensions (as well as Spider-Man: Edge of Time) was a foray back to the level based gameplay, and helped breathe new life into the franchise.

The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition Game Review

With the release of The Amazing Spider-Man movie, the series has gone back to the sandbox. The game was released on the Nintendo Wii, but it was butchered. Gone was the open world enjoyed by those playing on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game suffered immensely for it. The Amazing Spider-Man on the Wii was the most disappointing Spidey game I have ever played. Now the game has been released on the Nintendo Wii U, and thankfully, it is the full thing. It even has all of the DLC that was available for the other two platforms. Was the game worth the wait? Could it possibly make up for the horrible Wii version?

Peter Parker's New Costume For Amazing Spider-Man 2

This was just posted over on ComingSoon:

New Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit
Click for a much larger look
It's the first look at the new Spider-Man costume from next year's Amazing Spider-Man 2.  My first two reactions are that 1) I love the eyes, and 2) the rest of it, at least in this shot, looks like the suit from the original trilogy.  I do like this suit so far.  I hope it's a nice blending of the classic Spidey suit and the suit from the first Amazing Spider-Man.

I really enjoyed what they did with Amazing Spider-Man, and I really hope they can keep that momentum with next summer's sequel.  I guess only time will tell.

Nintendo Wii U Direct - 1/23/13

There was a new Nintendo Direct broadcast this morning which was centered around the Wii U.  No one was really expecting much in the way of actual news, but HOLY CATS WIND WAKER HD REMAKE!

Sorry, I couldn't hold that back any longer.  I am so excited for that news!

That wasn't all that was announced either!  Nintendo is working on two updates to speed uo the system, one for launching games and one for the switching between menus.  One will be out this Spring, and the other this Summer.  Also announced was the Wii U Virtual Console (with discounted prices for games you already purchased on the Wii), a new Mario Kart Wii U title, a new 3D Mario Wii U title (made by the same team behind Super Mario 3D land, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Miiverse on Smartphones this Spring, the ability to take pictures of your pikmin in Pikmin 3 and post them to Miiverse, and a crap ton more!

I think it is safe to say that this was the best Nintendo Direct since, well, ever!
