Bottom Shelf Mixology Rejected NFL Drinks: NFC North

Welcome to Bottom Shelf Mixology!  Our staff of Mixologists have racked their brains (and livers) to come up with special "bottom shelf" versions of popular drinks, and some original creations that range from "oh, that might be interesting" to "that sounds absolutely disgusting".

It's week four of the NFL season, and that means it is also time for part four of our eight part series of Rejected NFL Drinks.  We've been making nasty rejected drink for each team in the league and posting a division at a time.

Today, we've got our drinks for the NFC North.

Green Bay Packers

  • 1 can Beast Light
  • 1 can Easy Cheese
Pop the beer open.  Spray in a bunch of cheese.

Chug, and try not to freeze to death when you go outside.

Minnesota Vikings

  • 16 oz Mead
  • 1 piece Lutefisk
  • 1 plastic Viking Helmet
Pour the mead into the helmet.

Stick in the lutefisk.

Drink while you sit at home wishing you didn't ask for $20,000 per game.

Chicago Bears

  • 1 can Genesee Ice
  • 1 can Stroh's
  • 1 can Bud Light Lime
  • 1 can Keystone Light
  • 32 oz Orange Drink

Mix all of the ingredients together in a punch bowl.

Drink it while discussing how it's not too late to come back and win the Super Bowl.

Detroit Lions

  • 1 can Faygo Red Pop
  • 2 oz Jim Beam Red Stag
  • 1 Hostess Chocolate Donette
Pour some red pop into a glass with the cherry bourbon.

Cut the donette lengthwise (similar to slicing a bagel).  Float it in the drink, chocolate side up.

As it soaks up the liquid, the donette should sink to the bottom, just like the spirit of every Lions fan.

Up next: the AFC South.
