The White Elephant in the Room

Things have been extremely busy around here the past week and a half.  Not only was I busy with work, but my mother was in town to celebrate my grandmother's ninetieth birthday.  That meant every day for the entire week was spent away from home.  I have hardly sat in front of my computer at all, let alone been able to try and prepare something to post.

However, there is something I have been preparing for: Peanut Butter and Awesome's White Elephant Party.

For those of you who might be unfamiliar with a white elephant party, allow me to explain.  A White Elephant party has people randomly exchanging gifts with each other, but the catch is that the gifts are supposed to be stuff that is useless, terrible, or both.  Like giving someone a broken, used nose hair trimmer, your wisdom teeth, or a gift bag full of gift bags.  Everyone draws a number out of a hat, and that is the order you pick gifts in.  When it is your turn, you can either pick a new gift from the pile or steal something from someone else.

At our party, we are even going to have a prize for Best Worst Gift.  That is a title I fully intend to win.  I know I am going to have some stiff competition, but I think I can come out the victor.

We are also going to have ugly sweater cookies, lots of Cards Against Humanity will be played, and bad music playing throughout the evening.  It should be loads of fun!

The party is this Saturday, so look for a recap of the evening on the 15th or 16th (depending on how long it takes us to recover... word is a handle of El Toro might be involved).
