New Limited Edition Pop-Tarts: Marshmallow Hot Chocolate

This is not only part of the reason that I love this time of year so much, but also why I am fat.  Behold, all four limited edition Pop-Tarts that are currently available!

Of course, I have already covered the amazing Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts.  Besides those, there are the returning Gingerbread and Sugar Cookie flavors.  As if those weren't good enough, there is a new flavor this year: Marshmallow Hot Chocolate.  I'll go over the Gingerbread and Sugar Cookie flavors in a different post, but right now, I want to talk about the Marshmallow Hot Chocolate flavor.

At first glance, they don't look like anything too special.  If you base your opinion on that though, you would be wrong.  Well, unless you eat them right out of the package, like I normally do with Pop-Tarts.  If these are not warmed up, they will not be anything special.  In fact, these are one of the only two flavors I like better warmed (the other being the aforementioned Pumpkin Pie).  They taste okay if you don't warm them, but when they are fresh out of the toaster they are heavenly.  The flavor is Marshmallow Hot Chocolate for a reason!  The filling gets all melty and gooey, and almost tastes just like a marshmallow straight out of a campfire.  Minus the burnt flavor.  Unless you leave them in the toaster too long.  Then you get that burnt flavor.  Unfortunately, that it doesn't make them taste near as good as a toasted (or in my case, scorched) marshmallow.

Now I kind of wish they could make a flavor that tastes just like a toasted marshmallow. That would be awesome, and would also give me diabetes in about a week because I don't think I would be able to eat anything else.

If you like marshmallow at all, and feel like shoving it into your face for breakfast, but don't feel like picking through the entire box of Lucky Charms, give these a try while you can!
