Gorn Vs. The Shat to Promote New Star Trek Game

This might very well be the greatest commercial I've seen in a long while.  I still have no vested interest in the product, but seeing Captain Kirk fighting Gorn at 82 years old is brilliant.

Video Preview of Nintendo Wii U April Update

We knew Nintendo was working on addressing the long loading times while loading menus on the Wii U, and from the video that was released today, they have done exactly what they set out to do.

The update will be out next month, but as of right now that is the only release information we have.

Interestingly enough, the Nintendo 3DS just got an update a few days ago that also speeds things up for the system that turned two today.  Hopefully that means we will get our April update relatively soon.

Review: The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition

The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition Game Review

Ever since I was a little kid, Spider-Man has been my favorite superhero. Now that I have gotten older (even though I haven’t actually grown up yet), Spider-Man still ranks up there in the top three. I have played almost every single Spider-Man game ever made, and I have loved almost all of them. Yes, I even liked Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge. The first really good Spider-Man game, at least in my opinion, was Spider-Man on the PS1, N64, and Dreamcast. That is one of my all-time favorite Spidey games. Then when the movies game out, the games took a turn to sand-box territory. By the time Web of Shadows was released, the formula was starting to feel a little stale. This staleness led directly into my second favorite Spidey game: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Shattered Dimensions (as well as Spider-Man: Edge of Time) was a foray back to the level based gameplay, and helped breathe new life into the franchise.

The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition Game Review

With the release of The Amazing Spider-Man movie, the series has gone back to the sandbox. The game was released on the Nintendo Wii, but it was butchered. Gone was the open world enjoyed by those playing on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game suffered immensely for it. The Amazing Spider-Man on the Wii was the most disappointing Spidey game I have ever played. Now the game has been released on the Nintendo Wii U, and thankfully, it is the full thing. It even has all of the DLC that was available for the other two platforms. Was the game worth the wait? Could it possibly make up for the horrible Wii version?

Capcom Releasing DuckTales and Dungeons & Dragons This Summer!

DuckTales Remastered

The part of my brain that controls how happy I am is currently on overload.  Capcom has announced that they are bringing DuckTales Remastered and the two Dungeons & Dragons arcade games (under the name DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: CHRONICLES OF MYSTARA) to Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Nintendo eShop, and PCs this summer.

I have always been a fan of all three games, but holy cow, look at the DuckTales game!  It is being made by WayForward and looks completely amazing!

It's like Paper Mario leaked into Disney!

Make sure to check the press release for all of the details!

Review: BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien

BIT.TRIP Presents Runner 2 Future Legend of Rhythm Alien

BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien
(Available on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U (reviewed), PC (also reviewed), and PS Vita (Summer 2013)

When I reviewed BIT.TRIP Saga for the Nintendo 3DS, I stated my love for the series, so when BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien was announced, it should be no surprise that I was pretty darn happy.  I wasn't sure how I would feel about the new aesthetics of the game, but I knew that the game play would still be solid.  I got even more excited about it when the developers said that the Wii U version was the best console version of the game.  Could the game ever dream to live up to my lofty expectations?
