Bottom Shelf Munchies Episode 7: Sweet Cinna Punch

Welcome to the Bottom Shelf Munchies video series!  Our Bottom Shelf Crew is dumb enough to try out these odd treats just so you don't have to!  What have we done?

As the Bottom Shelf Crew decides to go boldly into the cuisine world unknown you can join us every Monday for our latest series: Bottom Shelf Munchies!

This week we have a drink from South Korea that tastes a little bit like chewing gum. Or the inside of a cinnamon roll. And it's not bad!

Bottom Shelf Mixology Episode 13: Holy S'Mole

Welcome to the Bottom Shelf Mixology™ video series!  Our staff of Mixologists have decided it would be a good idea to actually test our special "bottom shelf" recipes.  What have we done?

This week's terrible idea: trying out the Holy S'Mole.  We had to chew it.  It was the opposite of delicious.

Check out the recipe for the Holy S'Mole.

Birdemic Director Trying to Shock & Terror-ize Independant Artist

This is James Nguyen.  He is the man responsible for a few notoriously bad movies, such as seals.  He is the director of Birdemic: Shock & Terror, Birdemic 2, and the currently in production Birdemic 3.  He is also stirring up a bit of controversy.

On August 17, David Chadwick (a.k.a. Sugar Ray Dodge), received an email that claimed to be from Mr. Nguyen.  At first, he wasn't sure if it was real, or just one of his friends or readers playing a prank.

Plum Meat. When you think plums, you generally think of a nice, juicy stone fruit.  Not a salty anise flavored lump.

Join me, LinkslilTri4ce, and Comic Book Jon as we try out this salty surprise.

Peanut Butter & Awesome Fourth Anniversary Special: Jeppson's Malort

It's Peanut Butter & Awesome's 4th Anniversary today!  I can't believe it has been that long already...

To celebrate these last four years, we made a special video.  We got most of the Bottom Shelf Mixology crew, including yours truly, to drink the liquid tire fire known as Jeppson's Malort.

A special thanks to everyone for the last four years of Peanut Butter & Awesome! We're looking forward to many more years of bad drinks, weird snacks, holiday stuff, and RiffTrax!

The Bottom Shelf With Russ: BS Party

Greetings from Bottom Shelf Russ to all you loyal PBAndAwesome.com followers!  I have taken up both pen and bottle once again to say a few words about our upcoming anniversary.  A few words.

As you well know, this is an election year here in America, and we are facing many difficult issues.  Speeches are made and we are avalanched with sound bites galore on all medias.

Many of us are unhappy with the choice of candidates we are being offered. So, I, Bottom Shelf Russ being of un-sound mind and not so firm body, do hereby declare my intentions to run for the highest office in the land!

No, not dog catcher, but the Presidency of the United States of America......{cue sound of crickets in night}...

Yes, it's true!  I will be running on the Bottom Shelf party ticket(henceforth referred to as the BS party).  The BS party is probably the oldest party in existence, stretching back to Puritan times. It was the party of Tom Jefferson and the rest of his descendants like George Jefferson, Jefferson Darcy, and Jefferson Starship!  The BS party transcends all cultures.  We cross all political spectrums.  There is a proud tradition in the BS party of cheap bottom shelf whiskey for all!  E Pluribus Eunich!!

Our BS platform will include more taxes on the 1% top shelfers.  There will be no worries about un-secure e-mails as BS'ers use only sticky notes, which are very secure.  I would ask congress to enact a special tax to any cheap whiskey producers that insist on using plastic bottles.  I would appoint supreme court justices that are more tolerant of those that live in refrigerator boxes and use shopping carts to hold all their possessions. I would approve a pipeline from Canada thru the USA to Mexico to carry bottom shelf whiskey!  I will build that wall... around liquor stores, party stores and Walmart to secure their booze... and they will pay for it!

Next time you here from BS Russ, I will reveal my choice for V.P., my campaign song, and our BS party slogan, plus some other stuff.

So long for now. Here's looking up yours!

P.S. If you like this type of blog, please make sure you tell someone about it..  You know, tweet, plus one, like it on Facebook, and the the rest.

Love and peace from Bottom Shelf Russ.

As the Bottom Shelf Crew decides to go boldly into the cuisine world unknown you can join us every Monday for our latest series: Bottom Shelf Munchies!

Today's snack, the Candied Vegetarian Snack, is special.  And I don't mean "first kiss from your High School sweetheart" special.  I mean "terrible like Manos the Hands of Fate" special.

Jackfelgar and Hammer J joined me in this painful, painful experience.

My Updated Top Ten RiffTrax B-Movies List

Last May, I updated my ten list of my favorite RiffTrax B-Movie releases.  I had a pretty solid list built, but there have been so many excellent releases since then.  I felt it was time to once again update my list.

I started trying to work on this list over a month ago.  Between personal time constraints and trying to figured out what to add and remove from my list, I am finally ready to present it to you.  For someone who is as big of a fan of RiffTrax as I am, this is exhausting!  There hasn't been a single riff that I've watched that I haven't enjoyed, and trying to pick my favorites from ten years worth of content is difficult.

I did finally manage to get this finalized.  For now.

Carnival of Souls is The Next RiffTrax Live on October 27

We are two weeks away from RiffTrax Live: Mothra, but now it looks like we know what the next RiffTrax Live show is and when it will take place!

Yes, the guys will be taking on Carnival of Souls on October 27!  This is pretty exciting to me, because I never watched the version they released nine years ago.  I won't need to any time soon, either, because I will be waiting for the live show (I always prefer the live shows to the studio versions of their riffs, mostly because the energy is better).  In fact, I've never even seen the movie sans riff.

This show will probably be announced at the start of the Mothra live show, but we have yet to be wrong about these leaks.

In today's episode, we tried wax gourd.  It wasn't terrible.  Only eat this one if you want ants, because this is how you get ants.
