Terms of Embarrassment

Just got back a little bit ago from the grocery store to get some baking powder and food coloring for my wife.  Aside from those things and a few other food items, I also returned home with an embarrassing story.

I didn't know they had a color for shame.

I was standing in the isle with all of the baking stuff, trying to find the food coloring (it turns out that there wasn't any on the shelf).  Next to me was a man who was standing there while his wife was getting some other baking supplies.  I turned to him and said the following:

"You wouldn't know where the food coloring is by any chance, would you?  I don't know if they don't have any or if I'm just blind!"

As I'm finishing my statement, the man started to turn in my direction.  He was also holding something in his hand...

My eyes went wide with horror, and I turned and hightailed it out of there.

I waited for a few minutes until I saw them walk down a different isle, and then resumed my search, my face now as red as the food coloring that my wife needed.

Now if you'll excise me, I'm going to drown myself in Egg Nog and watch tonight's Christmas movie.
